RapCity returns Saturday July 3rd!

8 p.m. this Saturday, July 3rd, Twinprov returns to headline the OKC Improv stage with our groundbreaking hiphop longform comedy show Twinprov: RapCity. The show starts at 8p.m. at the Ghostlight Theater Club with one of OKC's best stand-ups, Brad Porter, followed by the group improv of Everybody And Their Dog.

For the uninitiated, see the full video of the RapCity debut below:

RapCity is a original form based on the classic Harold longform. Wildly different themes, scenes, characters we create from the audience suggestion will intertwine in unexpected and impossibly perfect ways, which, MC Escher-like, both inspire and originate with freestyle hiphop.

Kids of our generation were exposed to everything rap and hiphop had to offer, from funk, to old-school DMC, beatbox from Bobby McFerrin, gangsta from Snoop to Tupac, Weird Al, R&B from the Fugees, Eminem, to underground like Jurassic 5, to Gorillaz to MC Frontalot's nerdcore...and we have apprenticed our mad, mighty tongues to their masterful yoke! Beware and enjoy our flow!

See you there at OKC Improv Saturday night!

Vote for Twinprov as OKC Gazette's Best Local Comedy Group

Fans of Twinprov, twins, improv, rap, improvised rap, sketch, comedy, nerdidity, and general awesomeness:

Now is your chance to let your comic preferences be known! The OKC Gazette is holding their annual Best Of competition with a plethora of categories - and Best Local Comedy Group is among them.

No one's saying that if you don't vote for Twinprov, that the ecosystem may be irreparably damaged, particularly in the Gulf of Texaco.

No one's saying that the edritch curses on the inside of limited edition 1934 Bazooku Cthulu gum actually work.

No one's (who still has a mouth, but cannot scream) saying any of those things.

But we are saying you may vote for Twinprov as Best Local Comedy Group

If you want, retweet us @Twinprov or pass along our Facebook Event

RapCity debuts tonight at OKC Improv

A Rrrri..rrra...rikita rik ra rrrra...RapCity! What is it?

- the Vrazel twins improvising characters, scenes, worlds, and rapping about them
- a hip-hop Harold
- A funny, smart, and whimsical improv ride that will move your brain and feet.

Saturday night, with the debut of RapCity our new improv/hip-hop show, Twinprov will have come full circle. Twinprov, Buck and I have learned, is more of a process than a thing.

See, we started as improvisers. Then Twinprov was born conceptually -it was a two-man, 90-minute theatrical show. Then it grew into sketch/stand-up/improv/musical hybrid of our Prime/Twin Wars Show, then it somehow became more purely stand-up/theatrical with the Parent Show. Then Star Trek and the first movie rap happened, and from that accidental discovery has come half a dozen nerdy movie raps and fully improvised Doppelgangsta rap concert. Which is how we ended up as semi-freestyle rappers opening for MC Frontalot.

But, see, we started as improvisers, so we're putting that out front with RapCity. This time, we're taking a suggestion and taking it through whatever characters, scenes, and realities come up - and when Stf "Dr. Spach" Bidelspach's original beat drops, we tie everything together with freestyle rap. So in improv terms, Rap Ctiy is most like a hip-hop Harold.

Note: The RapCity debut with the Midolls at OKC Improv sold out and was a terrific show. Buck and I broke each other on stage, so we were definitely in our happy places! Thanks to all the fans, friends, family, and fellow improvisers.

The Doppelgangstas are here next Saturday

Improv comedy, meet Hip-hop. Universe and OKC, meet the Doppelgangstas: Kid Koopernicus and Uncus The Humongous Humunculus.

Next Saturday, Feb 27, at 8 pm, at OKC Improv at the Ghostlight Theatre Club in OKC. Prepare yourselves and spread the word about the reality-warping, sillydelic, made-up and straight-up flows of Twinprov: Doppelgangstas, as they make their stage comedy rap concert debut.

The show begins with local comedian Brad Chad Porter of 796 Entertainment and Thursdays Don't Suck.

Then, in their epic introductory sonic journey, the twintonium-powered duo work their spontaneous rap-fu on all matters great and small with more styles and characters than a Shaolin shadow puppet convention.

Sound will be laid down by OKC's musical Improviser extraordinaire Stephanie "Dr. Spach" Bidelspach and introducing the electronic sickness of San Francisco's DJ Philonious Tao, who will be dropping the beats so hard and cool you think you're being hit by hyperparabolic comets.

Show, ticket, and reservation info is all at the OKC Improv website. Make your reservations now.

Doppelgangsta style will be in the house...will you?
